Calling all 9-14 year-old students! We want you to join the GFW First Lego League team! This year’s theme Unearthed digs into archaeology, and the team will work together to design and program a Spike Prime robot to do a variety of tasks on a 4x8 foot field.
Experience with Lego robots is suggested but not required, as there will also be an engineering project related to archaeology. The team meets every Monday night from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school robotics room starting on Sept. 8. The class fee is $20/student. Text Bix Baker at 507-995-5635 for more information.

We are grateful for all of the work that so many different members of the team did to get things ready. GFW knows that some of the best learning can happen outside the classroom. That’s why the district is giving juniors and seniors a hall pass to the real world so they can take part in things like job shadowing, internships, trade tours, and career fairs.
Students will be able to take up to four excused days for career experiences like job shadowing, internships, trade tours, and career fairs. Whether that’s visiting a construction site, shadowing a nurse, or meeting with a local business owner. These experiences build confidence, spark curiosity, and help shape your future.
GFW High School students - watch your email for updates about ordering your official grade-level Homecoming shirt that will be part of some fun "Around the World" style competition coming up.
Simply reach out to any of your grade level representatives (listed in the email coming soon) or Ms. Wood (staci.wood@gfwschools.org) to order a shirt or stop by the homecoming shirt order table during open house on Wednesday, August 27 from 4-8 p.m. Money is not due until Friday, September 5, but orders must be submitted by the end of Open House on in order to receive a shirt.
